Meet the Intern: Rachel
My name is Rachel Amaral and I am currently an intern at Aigner/Prensky Marketing Group. This is my first internship as I am a rising sophomore at Regis College, double majoring in Business and Communications. I am thrilled to be working in a fast-pace and innovative environment that will allow me to learn and acquire an array of different job /life skills. I am so fortunate and eager to learn as much as possible from this unique opportunity.
As a first generation college student, I strive to make the most out of my academic pursuits. With that being said, I make an effort to balance my academic life with my social one. During the school year, I am involved in many student-run clubs on campus. Some of the roles I take on are the President of the Student Business Association, a Tour Guide Coordinator, a Writer/Contributing Editor of the Odyssey, a member of the Health and Wellness Group, and Campus Ministry. In addition to holding these leadership positions, I am a second degree black belt in the art of Tang Soo Do as well as a dedicated dancer since the age of three. Lastly, soccer has always been a passion of mine. I mean, after all I’m Portuguese and we take pride in this sport!
During the summer, along with interning at A/P, I enjoy waitressing at Legal Sea Foods. I love being a server because it gives me the chance to engage with different customers and personalities. Learning about others is one of my favorite things as people are truly fascinating. Aside from serving, you can find me in the gym working out, and eating at my favorite vegan restaurant, Life Alive. Health and Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. With a father and mother who are Vegans and Vegetarians respectively, living a healthy lifestyle is a significant aspect of my identity.
Overall, I am looking forward to working with an amazing team here at A/P. I am confident that I will be learning and developing a vast skill-set which will in turn, give me a competitive edge in the working world. Another advantage of interning at A/P is having the unique opportunity to work under two female business executives. In a society where women rights are actively being pursued, it is empowering to intern with both Anne-Marie Aigner and Janet Prensky.
