Goodbye Massachusetts, Til We Meet Again...

I'm not going to brag, but I came to Boston in 2004, and I am pretty sure I single handedly broke the Red Sox curse. Here are the facts -- I was attending college at Northeastern (site of the original world series), I was living on The Fenway, and I was born in 1986... hence magically breaking the 86 year world series drought. Coincidence, I think not.

You're welcome Boston.

But alas, my work here is done...

Since that time, 10 years have come and gone and I am finally packing up and heading back to my hometown of Syracuse, NY. My family owns a Top 15 restuarant in New York state which is also a hotel and wedding venue -- I started working their at age 14 and could never fully give it up.

Don't get me wrong, I love PR... so much that I will continue working for Aigner Prensky from afar, but now I can hopefully have the best of both worlds. I can be apart of the family business and keep a foot in the Boston PR world that I love so much.

Things I will not miss:

  • The crazy homeless man who makes fart noises in the alley next to my apartment

  • Idiotd who think they can park anywhere they like as long as they put their hazards on

  • Hipsters

  • The MBTA

  • $15 cocktails

Things I will very much miss:

  • All the fabulous restauarants -- I would list you all individually if I could, but that would take up far too much space.

  • The 'Cucumber Gimlet' and the great staff at the Charlesmark Hotel

  • Being silly and stupid, because its basically par for the course being in a town full of college kids

  • Shopping on Newbury Street

  • Going out any night of the week, just because.

  • and ofcourse...My close friends at Aigner Prensky Marketing

I am very thankfully for all the wonderful years I have spent in Boston and all the even more amazing friends I have met. And trust me, I'm not gone -- not by a long shot. It would take more than a new job in a new state to keep me away.
