Meet Our Intern - Bri!
My name is Bri Tarpey and I started interning here in October; I love it so much they’re letting me stay through the spring semester! After first getting involved with A/P last summer by volunteering at the handmade market, ASSEMBLED, they offered me an internship and my favorite days are the ones that I spend here at the office. It’s a great atmosphere, everyone is so nice, and I’ve learned so much by being so hands on.
If I could be at A/P five days a week I would, but I pay the bills by working at Starbucks. It will be a rude awakening for me the day I stop working there and see how much money I actually spend on coffee! In the small amount of free time that I have I try to do some reading (currently in progress: The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling) or blogging about whatever random New England adventures I happen to be having.
Growing up as an Air Force brat I moved around a lot which ignited my love for travel. I’ve lived in Germany and Japan as well as visited China, Hong Kong, and Greece. I crave new experiences, which is part of why I moved out here to Boston (The other part is that when I was five, I told myself I would. I just couldn’t go back on such determination!). However, at heart, I’m just a little Midwestern girl from Wisconsin.
Besides taekwondo, biking, rock-climbing, and eventually one day skydiving, I love just going to a little café to relax. Living in Boston has been one of the best experiences because I never get tired of just walking around and exploring the city.
I love making new friends and just talking to people for hours. I’m always interested in learning anything I can about different cultures or other people’s experiences. Boston (and A/P!) have definitely provided me with those opportunities – can’t wait for more!
